Discord scam reports: fake helpers, wallet links and impersonation

A helpful-looking reply in a Discord community can lead to a private conversation or an unfamiliar website. The useful detail is how the conversation moved from a trusted place to the action that caused the loss.

“A helper told me to connect my wallet”

Include whether you asked for help first, where the reply appeared, and whether the person moved you to a direct message. Describe the request in your own words. Do not assume that someone represents a project because they use its logo or a support-style name.

Save context before it disappears

Keep the message link, the reported account identifier if available, and screenshots showing the request. Distinguish the server where you first met the account from the website you were later sent to. An incident involving a community does not mean its administrators were responsible.

Report the account on Discord too

Discord provides tools to report scams and other safety violations. ScamBoard is a separate place to share an experience and find similar reports; it cannot suspend a Discord user or investigate an account on Discord’s behalf.

Should I post my Discord password or recovery information as evidence?

No. Never post login credentials, backup codes or wallet recovery phrases. An explanation of the request and a redacted screenshot are more appropriate public evidence.
